Simple, Inexpensive Ways to Organize Your Home!

Welcome to HH6&You! I rotate topics each week and feature a fellow blogger in that niche.  Today, I am happy to share the page with Tanya F.  from  The Fruitful Home!

About Tanya:  Tanya has 2 beautiful children and has been married for 21 years.  Her 2-year old blog, The Fruitful Home, is about creating a beautiful, loving home on a budget.

I am a wife and the mother of a daughter and son, who are now both teenagers.

I am always looking for new ways to save money.  I read lots of magazines and books on this subject and love to pass the information onto you.  I also enjoy trying new recipes and decorating on a budget.

I live by faith every day that God will provide for my family.  I also believe that he puts desires in our hearts that we are to nurture.  Blogging and saving money are some of mine.  -Tanya F.

Simple, Inexpensive Ways to Organize Your Home

When you think of organizing your home do the thoughts big expense and big time commitment come to mind?  It can be stressful to even know where to start.  I have found some inexpensive ways to organize your home.   Some of them are home organizing products and some are organizing websites.

  • I found a few items at the Ikea furniture store last weekend.  I found some pretty floral tins that were only around $5.00.  I am using them in my bathroom to hold Q-tips, cotton balls, and paper cups.
  • I also bought some simple wooden spice racks.  I was inspired by a few things I saw on pinterest.  I put one in my kids bathroom to help get rid of some of the clutter on the counter.  They are both teenagers now! I am also going to put one up in the kitchen for spices.  They are also great to keep all your children’s books in one place
  • The Better Homes and Garden’s website has many useful resources as well.  I printed out their labels and used them for my plastic canisters in my pantry.  Free printable storage labels can be found here. (http://www.bhg.com/decorating/storage/organization-basics/free-printable-storage-labels/)
  • I really like the website www.organizinghome.com.  They have a lot of printable lists.  I also use their household notebook.  www.Moneysavingmom.com  also has some wonderful resources.  I especially like the freezer cooking planners and the daily docket  which can be found under household management forms.

These are just a few simple ways I like to keep things organized at my house.  What ways do you like to organize?

  1. Love it! I love getting rid of clutter, donating to goodwill and saving money. Thanks for the tips.

  2. I have my “declutter” task on my calendar. It feels so good to see a bunch of stuff go away and to a good cause. I use freecycle, several sites for our base and donate to a “clothing swap on post”.
One person’s “trash” is another’s treasure! I know, because I love to upcycle!
